This novel is the recipient of the Quill Prose Award, which is given annually by Red Hen Press for a work of prose by a queer writer. The Press explains on their website that they offer this prize “to work against the negative politics of labeling while honoring and empowering authors who identify as queer.”
The History of a Voice
Poetry Collection
This poetry collection received the Baxter Hathaway Prize in Poetry from Epoch, Cornell’s literary journal. The judge, Alice Fulton, wrote in her introduction to the prize that I am “a lyric poet in the tradition of Olga Broumas, the Adrienne Rich of Dream of a Common Language, and Sappho.”
